How to Login to Online Banking for the First Time

You will need to obtain a password to access Online Banking. If you already have a password established, please follow the steps listed below. If you do not yet have a password, please contact a Western Representative at 877-254-9328 to have one generated.

Step 1: Login to Online Banking

  1. Enter your Western membership number in the Login ID field.
  2. In the Password field, enter your temporary password provided to you by a Western Representative or in a recent communication (e.g. new members through a recent merger).

Step 2: Create a new password.

  1. Your current password is the temporary password. It was provided to you by a Western Representative or in a recent communication (e.g. new members through a recent merger).
  2. Create a new permanent password that is 4 - 16 characters long.

Step 3: Choose a validation question and enter your email address.

  1. Choose one question from each drop-down menu and supply a respective answer.
  2. In the "Please re-enter your email address" field, enter your email address exactly as it appears, paying particular attention to the use of capitalization, etc. If there is no email address in the "Email Address" field, you will need to enter your email address in this field.

Step 4: Add extra security.

This screen provides two options: Add extra security to my Online Banking account and this computer, OR add extra security to my Online Banking account only. Choosing "Add extra security to my Online Banking account and this computer" allows the new Online Banking system to recognize the computer you are logging on from. If you are on a computer you trust (i.e. your home desktop computer or laptop), choosing the first option means you will not be asked your validation question when logging on from this computer. Other computers can be added as well.

Choosing "Add extra security to my Online Banking account only" means you will be asked your validation question when logging into Online Banking from this computer. You would select this option if you are on a kiosk or computer you use infrequently and may not trust.

For example, if you login from your home computer and choose the first option, then you will not be asked your validation question each time you login. Every time you login to Online Banking from a different computer, you will be asked your validation question.

Step 5: You're all set! Welcome to Western's Online Banking.

Now you are able to take advantage of the FREE and convenient features Online Banking offers, including FREE Bill Pay. After completing your session in Online Banking, always remember to log out. When you come back to log into Online Banking, enter your Western membership number for your Login ID and your new permanent password for the Password.
